For students

Your syllabus, planned into your week.

Add your academic calendar and each course’s syllabus. Puffin builds a term plan you approve, then finds time to study before every deadline.

Built for college and university students. For now, you can join if you’re 18 or over and live in the United States.

Setting up a term

Four steps from syllabus to plan.

Puffin reads the documents your school already gives you. You check everything before it becomes your plan.

  1. 1

    Name your school

Type your school’s name and choose its level.

  2. 2

    Add your academic calendar

Puffin drafts your term’s dates, holidays, breaks, and final exam period. You confirm them.

    • PDF
    • Word file
    • Web link
  3. 3

    Add each course’s syllabus

Puffin drafts the whole course from it. For a course with no syllabus, choose “Add by hand”.

    • By hand
  4. 4

    Review your plan

See every item by course and by week, and change anything. Then choose “Approve plan”.

Inside a syllabus

What Puffin reads.

Puffin drafts your whole course from its syllabus. You review every value before it becomes your course.

  • Each lecture, discussion, lab, and studio, with its days, times, and room
  • Each assignment, with its due date
  • Each exam, with its date, time, and room
  • The schedule of topics and readings
  • How much each piece of coursework counts
  • The course’s AI policy for each kind of work

Planning the week

Your classes first. Then your study time.

  1. First, what can’t move.

Every class meeting and every exam goes on your calendar as an event that stays put. A day without class, such as a holiday, stays clear.

  2. Then, how long each piece takes.

Puffin starts each course at three hours a week for each unit, then learns from the time you really spend.

  3. Then, a time before each deadline.

The scheduling engine places your study blocks around your classes, your shifts, and your sleep, at most one block for each course a day.

Study blocks

You answer first. Then you get help.

Open a study block and it shows one question at a time, with an answer box and nothing else.

  • Each weekly topic gets notes, a quiz, and flashcards.
  • “Ask for help” opens the Student tutor, which gives no full solution while a problem is open.
  • The tutor follows your syllabus’s AI policy. Where a course allows no AI help, the block runs without it.
  • Anything Puffin writes for you is marked “Generated”.

Your say

New work waits for your yes.

After you approve your plan, new work Puffin finds waits as a proposal until you accept it. Turn on “Apply changes without asking” for any course you want Puffin to update on its own.
