Help
Puffin, one task at a time.
Short guides to the things you do most in Puffin. Pick one to start.
Get started
Open Puffin, answer a few questions, and land on a planned week.
- 1
Open Puffin and sign in.
- 2
Puffin sets up your week in a few short steps, about five minutes in all. You can skip any question.
- 3
In Bring in your week, press Connect beside Calendar and paste your calendar’s secret link, the one that ends in .ics. Find it in your calendar’s sharing or export settings.
- 4
In Your week, check the working hours Puffin found in your calendar, then set your personal time and your sleep. A question you skip keeps its starter hours.
- 5
In What matters most, put your six parts of life in order. Puffin uses the order only to break a tie between two times.
- 6
Pick a few goals, or none, and add a module such as Student if it fits you. Nothing lands in your week until you say yes.
- 7
Choose Allow notifications to get Puffin’s reminders, or Don’t allow.
- 8
Puffin plans your week and opens your calendar on it. You can change any answer later in Settings.
Ask in your own words
Tell Puffin what changed, and it updates your plan.
- 1
Press Puffin at the bottom of your screen to open the chat. On a keyboard, press A.
- 2
The first time, Puffin asks your permission to use AI. Choose Allow and continue. You can turn it off any time in Settings, under AI and data.
- 3
Say what you need in your own words, like Move my run to tomorrow morning.
- 4
Puffin makes the change and tells you what it did. Press Undo to put it back.
- 5
Before a change it can’t undo, Puffin shows you what would happen and waits. Confirm it, or choose Keep current.
- 6
The chat has a daily limit. It resets at midnight, and the rest of Puffin keeps working.
Review what Puffin proposes
New work waits for your yes before it joins your week.
- 1
When Puffin finds new work, for example in your mail, it waits as a proposal. Nothing joins your plan until you accept it.
- 2
Press Today and proposals on the calendar’s toolbar, then open the Proposals tab.
- 3
Choose Accept to add a proposal to your week, or Edit to change it first.
- 4
Choose Dismiss to let it go. Press Undo if you change your mind.
- 5
Choose Snooze to see it again in an hour, in four hours, tomorrow, or next week.
- 6
Important proposals also show on your calendar as draft blocks, with Accept and Dismiss on the block.
Move and change blocks
Drag, pin, finish, or remove what’s on your calendar.
- 1
Choose Month, Week, Day, or Agenda to change the view.
- 2
Drag a block to move it, or drag its edge to change how long it lasts. Press Undo to put it back.
- 3
After you move a task, Puffin asks Pin this task here?. Choose Pin to keep it there, or Move without pinning.
- 4
Open a block to see its details. Why here? says why Puffin placed it at that time.
- 5
Mark a task done with the circle in its details. When a block ends, Puffin asks Did you do it?.
- 6
To remove an event of your own, open it and choose Delete event. To drop a task, choose Cancel in its … menu.
Change how Puffin looks
Choose your colors, your glass, your type, and your blocks.
- 1
Open Settings, then choose Appearance. On a phone, Settings is in your profile.
- 2
Under Color mode, choose Light, Dark, or Auto. Auto follows your device.
- 3
Choose an App theme and a Text style.
- 4
Set how much glass you see, from Clear to Frosted. Reduce transparency and Increase contrast make every screen more solid.
- 5
Choose a Calendar palette and an Entry style, and set your own Habitat colors.
- 6
Puffin keeps these choices on this device.
Connect your calendar and mail
Bring what you already use into one plan.
- 1
Open Settings, choose Modules and connections, then Connections.
- 2
Under Add a connection, choose a calendar, your mail, or your sleep. A connection that isn’t open yet shows Coming.
- 3
To add a calendar, sign in with its provider, or choose Import a calendar and paste its link or add its .ics file.
- 4
Mail reading waits until you allow AI in Settings, under AI and data.
- 5
Open a connection to Sync now, Pause, Reconnect, or Disconnect it. A disconnect can’t be undone.
Export or delete your data
Take a copy of your data, or delete your account.
- 1
Open Settings, then choose Your data.
- 2
Choose Export my data. Puffin prepares your export and emails you a link.
- 3
When the card reads Your export is ready., choose Download. The link works for seven days.
- 4
To delete your account, choose Delete account, read what happens, and confirm with Delete my account.
- 5
